NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally rose to 43,113,413 on Thursday, as 2,827 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry's latest data.

SEOUL -- South Korea's export of the information and communications technology (ICT) products logged a double-digit growth for 13 straight months, government data showed Thursday.

CANBERRA -- Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has been declared the winner of the third leaders' debate ahead of the Australian election.
Albanese and Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Wednesday night went head-to-head on key issues for the final time before the election on May 21.

TOKYO -- Japan logged a current account surplus of 2.55 trillion yen (19.68 billion U.S. dollars) in March, the government said in a report on Thursday, with the surplus being in the black for a second straight month.
According to the Finance Ministry, the country had a goods trade deficit of 166.1 billion yen (1.28 billion dollars) and a services trade deficit of 127.7 billion yen (985.57 million dollars), among key components in the recording period. (Japan-Current Account-Surplus)
