SEOUL -- Sentiment among South Korean consumers over economic situations worsened in five months due to the COVID-19 resurgence here, central bank data showed Friday.

The composite consumer sentiment index stood at 79.4 in September, down 8.8 points from the prior month, according to the Bank of Korea. It was the first decline in five months since April. (South Korea-Consumption)

GABORONE -- Botswana is actively pursuing strategies for regional cooperation on infrastructure and integration to create more active routes and expand market access, the country's foreign minister said Thursday.

CANBERRA -- The Australian government has announced that it would abolish lending laws imposed on banks during the global financial crisis (GFC) to increase the flow of credit.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg announced on Friday that the government would transfer due diligence obligations for loans from lenders to borrowers, effectively dumping responsible lending laws introduced in 2009 and injecting an "adrenaline shot" into the economy. (Australia-Credit Reform)
